A Summary Of Annie Lebovitz

  • Style- annie lebovitz has several different styles of pictures. one is a very complicated set up of lights sets scenes and costumes, such as her disney pictures, they look like thay have taken a very long time to set up and edit (add cgi). they are very cramped pictures with alot going on however she still maages to make the focal point the celebraty in the image.
then there is the portraits she did of the queen and keira knightly and iggy pop ect. these are very simple but all very effective and beautiful to look at even though its just the person and possibly a single prop.
  • she is a very innative photographer, and very creative. she is very skilled at taking cramped but also simplistic pictures. she is not very traditional at all.
  • Technique- her main technique is to one, take pictures of very famous people in costumes of characters such as sleeping beauty ect. another one of her tequnics is to take a picture then add lots of CGI to create a fermiliour scene to acompany the costumes such as the the sord in the stone.
  • Narrative- in her photos she is very good at telling a story through it, she uses a compination of costumes and set designe, so it is easy to see the story however in her portrates there is no fancy scenes or complicated costumes only the person and a simple background, but she still manages to create a story with the other modles she uses in the picture and the lighting and the face expretions on the persons face.

this picture shows her use of story telling without useing costumes of sets. it just shows her pure talent without without any fancy effects.

  1. some thoughtful comments Lill - you have clearly developed a liking for her work - as an extension try to look at the website links you have included; then add a discursive comment - a brief discussion around the quality/content or aim of the website/blog or article - that will get you to a higher mark level.
Finally try changing the font in your posts - it will make it easier to read - perhaps verdana - i find this font very hard to read easily this would help your marks
